What is Social Emotional Learning (SEL)?

The Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning (CASEL) defines social emotional learning (SEL) as “an integral part of education and human development. Best Self Groups, L.L.C takes the 5 core competencies of SEL (listed in the balloons) to help children be their “best self.” All five competencies are equally important for a child’s social, emotional, and behavioral development. Best Self Groups, L.L.C teaches children various tools or strategies to help strengthen these skills.
